If there had to be one moment of sheer divinity that happened on that day it had to be when “The Sams” walked on set. With Sam and Samantha as part of the crew, the painstakingly long time we had to wait before actually getting into our location to shoot was bearable. Not to mention, the fact that we also had to change an entire scene’s location was also beneficial to have the Sam’s there to help the setup of the shots.

This of course, however, could not have happened if it wasn’t for producer, writer and cast member, Gilbert, who put out all stops to make sure we had a backup plan in case our original camera operator didn’t show up. Finding out that he did drop out was a blessing in disguise because little did we know that Gilbert’s backup consisted of two extremely talented individuals who became our DP and camera operators.

Shooting with two cameras as opposed to just one made this entire shoot extremely efficient. Despite, the fact that we were behind on schedule in the beginning due to the late arrival of the personnel to give us the key to open the clubhouse, we still wrapped up about an hour early.

There was no way that we could have continued at that fast pace if it wasn’t for Martin, who supplied us with the energy we needed with a wholesome meal from Pollo Tropical…..now that’s a real BOOM operator!

In retrospect, these incredible turn of events could not have taken place without the creators and producers, Giselle Marie and Gilbert Iglesias, and the genius writing of the one and only Johnny Flemming.

Male, slight Hispanic accent or Miami accent. Must be a good actor with command of his voice. Think Steven Bauer.

On this post we have Walle Lopez showing off his rigid cardio training and a memorable right hand that Tina will never forget.

Chase scenes are always the best. The whole thing happened so fast, I’m only happy I was able to recover and keep up with Tina. In fact I may have to take Walle up on those exercises he does cause I was quite winded once we got to the elevator. You know one thing that boggled me was Walle’s reaction to us. Why would he drop his murse? And what’s with the whiskers?

Tina:

Once I ice down my cheek I’ll be able to gauge this situation better. What I will say is that I continue being the only one that shows initiative here and I’m rather disappointed that Guy once again does nothing manly, but stand there and joke. Well, I suppose doing nothing is manly, nevertheless, I will add this to the list of shortcoming that I’m succumbed to in this arrangement Jon set-up between Guy and I. Guy is only an anchor that will end up sinking this project and it’s my responsibility as Jon’s friend and confidante to provide all the evidence before it’s too late.

Guy:

Seeing Tina get slapped has been the most enjoyable moment of the process to date. To tell you the truth Walle seems like a stand up guy. I think anyone that has some crazed screaming lunatic after them has more than probable cause in knocking that fool out. Oh man I can only imagine how majestic the interaction between Walle and Tina is going to be for the auditions.

Plenty of exciting news about Y2BN!  Yet 2 Be Named’s “We Choose You, Raul de Monte Cristo” won Best Audience Award at Art Basel’s Multiversal Film Festival on December 4th, 2011 for the “Drag and Drop” screening.

It was a great experience and we met wonderful Miami based filmmakers there with their very own web series: Jennifer Lorenzo from Geekgasm, Larry White and Chris Cropper from Going Nowhere.  Make sure to subscribe to their funny youtube videos.  There is plenty of online comedy out there!

Our webisode was also selected to run at the Idyllwild Film Festival!  Wish us luck!

So, what’s next? Loads of production meetings!

“From a cameraman’s perspective, our visit to Raul’s house was as epic as any of our surprise visits to date. It was a dark and rainy day until we stepped onto Raul’s province. The sun came out and birds started chirping, it was as if he lived in a bubble. We definitely captured some great live moments and insightful side interviews. I was unaware of Raul and Joe’s friendship and seriously, does he always have his trusted guitar by his side?  Unfortunately, we can’t show a majority of the footage we shot once Raul closed his front door on Guy, due to licensing, release forms (from Tina) and unsuitable footage for our viewers.”

Guy:

“I really don’t have much to report on notifying Raul of the audition date. No, I wasn’t pleased that he closed the door on my face or that I had to wait for the camera crew to take me home hours later.  I will have my payback.”

Tina:

(Was unavailable to comment…she was…occupied.)

Well, we started with our own videos and then asked friends and family to submit one too. We had a nice number of funny youtube character videos up when finally friends of friends and even strangers wanted to submit their own.  We were REALLY excited when actors started inquiring on how to submit a video.  When we got our 1^st submission from an actor we didn’t know…we knew it was only going to get better and that this show was going to be a hit.  The contest was posted on www.squidoo.com/funny-youtube-character-submission-contest along with a poll for people to vote for their favorite character.  The response was AWESOME!  Loads of people voted and we had our funny youtube character winner in no time, Raul de Monte Cristo.

So far, the videos are getting likes, comments and a nice number of views.  We have around 100 new facebook friends and getting friend requests on our youtube page too.  The submissions are still coming in and we have decided to keep them open to see what kind of talent is out there-and BOY there is TALENT out there!  So, we welcome and challenge you to submit video.  See if you can make us crack a smile and laugh out loud.  If you do, your performance will be featured on our youtube page and you may even be considered to be in one of our funny youtube webisodes.

For anyone trying to get their name out there for a show, a promotional 1-minute clip would help tremendously…..and we are no different, hence our 2 minute and 35 second clip!
