When we first thought of making a web series, our main concern was content.  We made a youtube channel and quickly discovered that it was…empty.  The webisodes were a long ways from being written let alone shot and we were just too excited about our idea to wait for the webisodes to be done in order to start posting.  We also had the issue of castings and coming up with notable guest characters for the show.  The solution became that we would make a contest.  A sort of unofficial casting, where anyone could submit a one minute video as a character they would like to see on the show.  The winner would be on the 1^st webisode.

Well, we started with our own videos and then asked friends and family to submit one too. We had a nice number of funny youtube character videos up when finally friends of friends and even strangers wanted to submit their own.  We were REALLY excited when actors started inquiring on how to submit a video.  When we got our 1^st submission from an actor we didn’t know…we knew it was only going to get better and that this show was going to be a hit.  The contest was posted on www.squidoo.com/funny-youtube-character-submission-contest along with a poll for people to vote for their favorite character.  The response was AWESOME!  Loads of people voted and we had our funny youtube character winner in no time, Raul de Monte Cristo.

So far, the videos are getting likes, comments and a nice number of views.  We have around 100 new facebook friends and getting friend requests on our youtube page too.  The submissions are still coming in and we have decided to keep them open to see what kind of talent is out there-and BOY there is TALENT out there!  So, we welcome and challenge you to submit video.  See if you can make us crack a smile and laugh out loud.  If you do, your performance will be featured on our youtube page and you may even be considered to be in one of our funny youtube webisodes.
